Christmas Holidays

Yes, I said Christmas....not happy holidays. Why? I believe in God. Nuff said.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I know I did. Got my daughter for Christmas eve night and Christmas morning. I couldn't have asked for a better present. Plus something happened to me that I always wanted to but it wasn't as fun as I thought...but looking back, it was pretty damn cute. What happened was during Christmas morning. I was asleep and like usual, my daughter was up before me.

Before I continue let me say this, my sister, her husband and their 4 children were over visiting for Christmas so I let my sister and her husband use my bed. With one simple rule though, no sex. lol. So anyways, I was sleeping on my couch and my daughter came to wake me up. The way she woke me up was what I'm mainly talking about it. She literally jumped on my. Knees bent, landing on my stomach. I went from being in a deep sleep to having my hands and feet in the air from her landing on me. I wasn't upset, just a little sore. lol. Still though, it was the best Christmas morning wake up I have ever had. The next time I have her, in two years, it'll be my turn to wake her up that way...lol. Gotta love being a parent. :)

Well, this was a short blog. More to come, more often.....I hope lol. I'm just not as motivated either cause I don't get any feedback from my blogz. That wont make me stop blogging but it would be nice to have a comment once in a while. I wouldn't even care if it's random. People that know me knows how random I can be and most of the time, it makes no sense. lol

Well, enjoy your holidays whatever you celebrate. Just remember, family is the important part of this season. Enjoy the moments you spend together cause gifts get old, ruined, wrecked but great memories last forever. Well, unless you get Alzheimer. lol

Priorities and Life

I've been thinking about the way my life is gonna be going in the new year. What changes I want and need to make and how they will effect my life, my daughters life and my career. Well, not really much my career but you kinda get the idea.

As some of my readers might know, I will have my daughter a lot more then I do now. I'm getting excited for the more time I get to spend with her. I know it will leave me a little stressed with having to get her to daycare on time then me to work and then back from work to pick her up before the after-school daycare closes. And it will leave me with less time to start to explore the dating world again. I have been single for a year...well, I should just say more like 18 months. The last person I dated seemed to only want to screw me a couple times then make up excuses to why she's too busy to hang out. Oh well, her loss.

I am planning on moving when my lease is up in June to a small 2 bedroom apartment. I do love to live in houses but there comes a time where you have to ignore what you want and get something that will allow you to save money so you can do things in the future with you child and give them the best possible life they can have. I've always wanted to give my daughter a better life then I had growing up and so far, she has, but I can always do better. When the day comes where I think I cannot do anything to better her life is the day I have given up trying to make her life perfect but I do not see that day ever coming. Even after she gets older and have a family of her own, I will still strive to get her life to be the best as possible. Even if that means sacrificing the things I want for myself in life. I do however see her wanting to go over and beyond to make my life better. I already see that compassion in her heart now. And I will do my best to keep that trait in her 'cause that will make her life so much better.

I've been meaning to spend more time doing my blog but I just haven't got around to it. I know shame on me but priorities change as life progresses. But don't think I will stop blogging all together. I will still try to do one once a week. Hopefully more. Anyways. it's getting closer to Christmas. Counting down the days for when Santa comes to spoil my little one. I have noticed that my excitement for Christmas has changed over the years from when I was young. I no longer get excited for getting gifts but I find more pleasure anticipating and watching my daughter wake up Christmas morning and seeing all the presents and the joy she will have opening them all up. It almost brings tears of happiness in my eyes just thinking about it. I hope she loves what she gets....well, I know she will love it. lol

Just remember people, life is always changing. Just keep an eye on the important things and push yourself to make that the main priority in your life, no matter how down you are, or how hard it might be, because in the end, those things are what you look back at and determine how great a life you lived. You don't want to look back and find out you wasted all that valuable time with childish behaviour. Only if I understood this like I do now 6-7 years ago. But I will not beat myself up on this, I will use it as a stepping stool so it doesn't happen again.

Happy Decem-beard

Well, since Movember is over, why not start Decem-beard to continue on to keep those faces of ours warm for the winter months. I've had my goatee for a couple years and I don't plan on shaving it off anytime soon. And I'm keeping my stash for the time being. Kinda like how it looks on me again.

So far, this month is going awesomely. For one, I got my daughter for the night last night so I got to wake up with her this morning.....at 530am. I hate waking up that early but for my daughter, its a complete joy. I also got an email today to send in 2 game reviews and if they like it and I am chosen, I will start doing game reviews and get paid for it. Win-fuckin-win. Hopefully I get games sent to me or links to download them for free instead of me having to go out and buy certain games to review to their liking. This will also shorten my time on my Skyrim playing and my side project associated with that but it'll be worth it cause I'll be making the money. The only down side I see with this would be my anticipation to get done work quicker and go home to play the games and do reviews. I should actually start doing my own personal review more often.

Whats new with me, well, end of last week my boob tube TV started acting up. Basically it was like someone was sitting there with the remote and hitting `input`, `power`, `channel scan` or holding volume up`. At first it didn't bother me too much. I just put it back to the appropriate input/channel and continue gaming or watching TV/movie. But as the days or hours went on, it got worse and worse to the point where I couldn't have the TV on for more then 5 minutes without this happening to it. So like any other sane gamer out there, I had to go get a new TV. And I made sure I upgraded far. No, I didn't get a 3D TV. I'm waiting for 3-5 years before I decide on getting one of those. Make sure the market for them is better and the price goes way down.

Well, I got my new TV. A Samsung 1080p LED Smart HDTV. I'm loving it. I can have Netflix, facebook, and twitter through my TV. Not from streaming from another device like my XBox 360 or from a computer, but actually from apps on the TV. Also with the apps I can download games to it. I literally started laughing when I found that out. One part, "that's pretty cool" and one part "that's ridiculous." The thing that I find really sick was that I was able to download an app for my iPhone 3Gs and use it as a remote control. It even has a section to use for the games as well. To make it work though, you need to have the HDTV hooked up to your router via wireless or wired and have your smartphone also connected to the same router. Its that easy. I don't think I will ever use the remote that came with the HDTV anymore. All I need to do now is get myself a HDMI cord for my XBox 360 and I'll be set.

I'll be back another day. Probably with something more interesting to talk about....like what happened to my old boob tube TV...did I give it away, sell it or smash the shit outta it with a baseball bat and other blunt objects....only time will tell. And if I do the more fun choice, you better believe I'll have someone video tape that shit. And yes, of course, I'll post it online and link it on here. lol

On a parting note; Make small things count.....teach midgets math.

Life Almost Back to Normal

Well, as you can tell, I haven't been keeping up with my blogz. The mental stress I have from the long, after hours work has been getting to me. This job started back in July/Aug. and for the most part, I basically set aside most of my social life so I can actually have time to relax. By the end of this weekend this damn job will be done. I will miss the extra money on my paychecks though lol, but I will have my life back.

This next year is already starting to look amazingly awesome. I will be getting a raise at work, and I will be getting my daughter not every other weekend but every week for the week. Along with that and because I will have my daughter with me the same amount of time as her mother, I now don't have to pay child support. (Obviously I now have to pay more for food and extras for my daughter, duh...lol) Only if I was able to move sooner then when my lease is up in June. I do love living with my sister, her husband and their 2, soon to be 3 kids, but I need my own place. I need to get my personal life on the go in the direction I need and want. This past 1 1/2 years living with them has showed me a lot of things I need to adjust in my own life to make mine and my daughters life even better. Plus I bet my sister is starting to get sick of me...lol But I know she still loves me....for now...lol

I'm gonna set aside at least one day a week for now to start doing my blogz again. I'm not sure what day yet, but I will make sure I stick to it. Then I'll slowly over the next year work on trying to do maybe 3-5 blogz a week. I'm not gonna go by my original schedule that I posted near the beginning of my blogz. That was just a waste of a blog post. I still have to do my review of Rage, and Dead Island. And a couple other ones but those will be the first two I do. And I will be doing another one for Skyrim when I have more of the game beat. That may not be until mid January to late February. And hopefully by then I will have a side project ready to release to the public. I did make a short comment about it in SeasonedGamers.com but that's all the info I will release for it. I might even go back to the post and delete that part so no one can steal my idea. I will release that in a link to a pdf that I will posted on my lockbox.

Anyways, I got my after hours work to do now. I better get on it. The sooner I start, the sooner I get home to spend time with my daughter before she goes to bed.

And on a parting note I'd like to say,

"Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans out there or like we call it here in Canada, Thursday." lol

Skyrim....my first 10-15 hours

Well, I know I'm slacking but if I try to do this everyday, it feels like a job and the fun is sucked out of it. So I'm resorting to posting when I have something to post. That may lead to more post in a day or maybe one post a week...who knows. But if I do multiple posts in a day, then they would probably be smaller ones.

Anyways to the blog....

I have to say that I FUCKIN LOVE THIS GAME. This is by far the best Elder Scrolls game out there. If you are a RPG fan, you have to get this game. The dragon fights are fun and hard but doable, and I haven't changed the difficulty I play on yet. I have left it on Adept. (def. very skilled; proficient; expert).

If you have never played any of the Elder Scrolls games this is the one to try first. Not because its new, only because this is how they set up creating your character. You pick your race, your name and BAM your playing the game after the opening sequence. The 2 others that I've played were Morrowind and Oblivion. Those you need to pick your star sign to add bonus to your attributes and then you have to pick your major attribute. If you know what your doing, go at it but if you don't, you wouldn't know how to pick what attributes that would help you level up. Just say you want to be an archer mage assassin but if you pick attributes in the other games to work with those but you end up playing like an archer two-handed weapon expert bass-ass so the attributes now won't work the way you want with leveling up. So you have to do one of two things, just continue playing or start over. With Skyrim, you don't need to worry about that. Your character levels up with the style of how you play.

One of the things I thought was pretty cool what they did was that there are now kids in the game. Not of all ages, just probably around 10-13. The dragon fights are pretty random. There are some that are scripted to happen to go with the storyline but when you fight them, they are still random on how they attack. A lot of people are saying ,`This is how Oblivion should have been.` Well, I think not. Oblivion was still amazing for its day. Skyrim is Skyrim.

Some things I've learned from playing in this game are, if you don't want a village to attack you, don't shoot a chicken walking in the streets, dragons have ADD in some fights, using whirlwind sprint when over-encumbered gets you where your going a lot quicker, and save often.

I am maybe 15-20 hours into the game and I've only killed 5 dragons. And I'm not that far into the game. I've read on SeasonedGamers.com that a couple people are already done the main storyline and one guy has killed at least 19 dragons since he posted last. I'm falling behind. :(
Now its time to get up, hide some of my daughters toy glass diamonds and make a treasure map before I have to pick her up from school. And I'll be sliding in Skyrim or Halo: CEA in between.

My life living in The Elder Scrolls

As many of you know, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be coming out this Friday, 11:11:11. So why not blog about my life inside this amazing game series.

That's what it is though, a life inside a video game. No not like The Sims, but in a place long ago, in a universe where magic is alive and everywhere. I have only played the 3rd (Morrowind) and 4th game (Oblivion) of the series. I destroyed Morrowind, but I didn't put much time in Oblivion. Why, just didn't have time and Halo: Reach controlled most of my XBox 360 life. Time well wasted. lol.

One of my best friends Matt called me up years and years ago about this game he bought. (Morrowind) He first told me when he first played the game, he spent maybe an hour in it, turned it off and thought `why did I buy they crap.` About a week or two later, like a good gamer, he gave it another shot. Never give any game only one try. Give it 2 or even 4 tries before giving up, you may find you like it after the 2nd or 3rd try. Anyways, after he game it another go, he loved the game and we spent a good hour or two on the phone talking about it. He was explaining everything he's seen and done in the game and all the features it had. He then said that he has to bring it over for me to try it.

Later that weekend he brought it over and I tried it. It was a little much to take in at first but once I understood how this game was I fell in rpg love lol.

It took me about 6 months before I picked up my own copy. I got the game of the year edition so I could have more stuff to do. I don't remember how many hours I spent in it but the days in the game was over 700.

The 2 crazy things that stand out in my mind from Morrowind was my first character, I just randomly roamed and I ended up near the ghost gate and I kept getting killed by these really strong guys. So the only way I could get out was to use the scroll that added 1000 points to your acrobatics. I pointed my character toward the shortest distance to water and jumped. Everything was going good. On my decent all I could see was water. Then something slowly appeared, an island. Out of all the area I was going to land I landed on the only island around. The island was also the size of a freakin bed. Seriously wtf..?

The other thing was that on day 666 was when my character turned into a warewolf. I didn't plan that to happen it just did. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Now for Oblivion. I played many hours into that but I never went too far in the story line. At one time I was borrowing my brother-in-laws XBox 360 while he has my Wii. I had my buddy's Oblivion game but I didn't have the system long enough to beat it.

About 16-18 months ago I got my first XBox 360 and I had to start over. Soon after I got Halo: Reach and like I stated above, that sucked up all my time lol. Then many other games got in the way and I just didn't make time for Oblivion. I still plan to play and beat it one day but with Skyrim now here. I might not.

Today is 11-11-11. And I picked up my collectors edition at lunch. The reason I didn't go to the midnight release was that I worked the 2 previous days doing 12hr shifts then Thursday morning I had to get up at 530am to get my daughter to daycare in time an then me to work. And I'm currently working a 12hr shift today so I have to still wait to pop this game in.

I destroyed Morrowind, barely touched Oblivion and now I have Skyrim which I plan to play the shit outta. lol And to get in the mood more, and thanks to my awesome boss, I made a 3' x 4' map of Tamriel, the continent that The Elder Scrolls take place on. If you follow me on Twitter, I posted a picture of me with it on there.

SeasonedGamers.com We are not a community, we are a family.

I first wanted to write this specific blog on the 7 year anniversary of when Seasoned Gamers started but that day came and went without me even cluing in that it was near. I did get an email from SG saying happy anniversary, you've been here 7 years, or something like that and that didn't even click in and I signed up on the first day. I'm actually the 2nd longest active member of the site. The only one there longer is JAMO who created the website.

What is SG all about? Well, like the title of this blog states, we are a family, not a community. That is actually partially true. Yes we are a community. We have currently 1,016 members. But the heart and soul of SG is in the group of Moderators, Administrators and overly active members of the site. We are what makes SG what it is, a family like atmosphere. If you look in any family, your own, your friends or whoever, you see a close, loving relationship that is full of helpful hands, great conversations, great friends and the occasional insults we joke about with each other.

I have not had the opportunity...sorry, let me re-phrase that. I have not had the privilege to meet anyone in person who is a member of SG but I have talked with them on the forums, XBL, text messages and on one occasion, on the phone. We do have a yearly meet up called the Spring Fling that many of us "SG Family" members go but all have been in the USofA and me living in Canada and without a passport, I cannot go. I do check out what other SGer's who go have to say after the event and I look at all the pictures and I can tell that it's a blast.

The site started initially in the XBox forums specifically in the Halo sub-forum when a couple people started talking about finding a forum we can all go to that is for adults. No kids allowed. So after a month or two of discussion, and the nice moderators at the XBox forums for not deleting an off topic thread in the Halo forum, JAMO posted about him getting started with making a forum we can all go to.

I made sure to check the link he provided almost every 2-5 minutes. Finally it worked and I signed in as member 04. Member 01 was the initial SG account, 02 was JAMO, 03 was some person who never posted and ended up getting his account deleted, then myself. Since then, there have been over a thousand people sign up and hundreds of accounts being deleted due to inactivity of finding out they are under the minimum age requirement.

In the past 7 years, SGers have helped with giving stuff to other SGers in need such as, XBox 360's, games, plane tickets, gifts, and the list goes on. I have not been part of this helpful side of things due to financial situations but if the opportunity ever arises again, and I am able to help, I'll be jumping in with both feet.

We have yearly leagues in Halo, CoD, Racing, Golf, L4D and others. We also hold our own Olympics every 2 years. We have many online meetups throughout the week that you can find any member of SG in. You will find someone to help you out with anything from gaming problems, network problems or any and everyday stuff.

So many things have went on in SG that there was always someone there to lend some kind words of advice, have someone pray for others, and even give best wishes to many things. We have dealt with at least one death of a member, RIP NextLevel360, we have been there when a member, Dadflash and his wife went to China to pick up their new baby girl, we've helped people with getting threw divorces, helped with giving advice on raising children and even shared funny stories that has happened to us and our own family. We've also had members of SG meet up in Afghanistan, and Iraq for a quick meet up when they had down time.

I am proud to say that I am a member of the best online community I have found online. There are not many people or places I can call my family or even a home but SG is one of those places. I will forever be a member of this community no matter how old I get.

And like the Seasoned Gamers tag line says; "Fun. Friends. Family. HOME." No words can be truer.

Horror Movie Blazing Review: See No Evil

Well, its the first of November and my Horror Movie Quote Contest is at an end. Will I do more movie reviews? Probably. When? Don't know. Whenever I feel like it. I actually had fun doing these. Watched a few movies that I wanted to see but never got around to it. And I seen movies I never knew existed.

Well, here is the movie review.

See No Evil...at first when I started to watch it and I seen the WWE logo my first thought was, `If WWE has any say in producing the movie, its going to suck hard....and not in a good way.`

The movie starts off with 2 police officers checking out a house with loud church like music playing and the occasional scream from a female. The enter the house and find a women who looks terrified sitting alone in a room. When they approach her, they see that her eyes have been pulled out. The killer appears as his ax slams down on one of the officers. The other officer shots toward the killer as the killer swings down toward him and chops off his arm. And the killer gets away.

The movie centers around a group of adolescent prisoners on a weekend pass to help clean a hotel so they can get time off of their sentences. Everything seems normal. Scary old hotel that's being redone to be a historical place. They are shown around the place by the one officer who was in the opening scene and a women. They were given rules of where not to go and what they are not allowed to do.

After they finish doing their first night of cleaning, 2 guys wonder off to look for a hidden safe that was said to be left in the hotel years ago when it caught fire. Two other girls end up staying in their rooms to relax and the other four, two guys and two girls head off to the top floors, where they are not suppose to go, so they can have a little `fun`. This is when the story starts ramping up.

One by one the adolescents are captured one by one. All being killed except for one. The reason she didn't get killed or had her eyes torn out was because she had religious tattoo's on her that made the killer (Kane) not want to harm her. Every person Kane killed, he tore out their eyes. (I cannot remember the killers name in the movie so I'm just calling him by his WWE name. I could look it up but I don't want to. Lazy and stuff.)

Throughout the movie, you see flash backs of Kane as an adolescent locked in a dog cage and his mother yelling at him with religious things and about seeing the evil in people. At one flash back younger Kane brought home a girl. He was sitting in a corner, and the girl was tied to the bed. Most likely by his mother. Again she was saying religious stuff and telling him to see the evil or something inside her. She then pulls the women's eye out to show her son and said something along the lines of him looking to see the evil in her in her detached eye. This lead to Kane pulling out everyone's eyes he has killed.

In the end, you find out that the women who wanted to have the hotel restored was actually Kane's mother who tricked the police officer and the prisoners to come there so she can get revenge on the officer. The prisoners were just bonuses. At the end, Kane get angry with his mother and tosses her onto a spike on the wall and killing her, ending her verbal abuse to her son...but the damage has already been done long ago.

I'm not gonna let anyone know who all makes it out of the building alive, or even if any do. I gave enough info on the movie that will either have you want to watch it or have you think that its not worth your time. I personally was impressed with the overall acting in it. Kane did an excellent job doing his part and same with the younger actors. The odd time you did see some amateur acting in it but that's just from inexperienced actors.

I give this movie a solid 7 flames outta 10. I would have gave it less but I was surprised with how the movie ended up even though it was a WWE movie.

And Congrats to Mycaelus for winning the Horror Movie Quote Contest with a commanding lead of 40 pts. 2nd place was Potatoehead89 with 13 pts and 3rd was shearsnshutters with 10 pts.
Thanks you all for participating and stay tuned for possible more contests in the future. Maybe post Christmas time. I will be contacting Mycaelus for details of prizes and so forth.

btw, the only unanswered questions I had was the amount of piercings I've had total if I kept them all in...and the total was 16.

Until next time. Goodbye, have fun, drink Pepsi.

Horror Movie Quote Contest - Question 5

Well, here is the last question for this contest. And there is still an unanswered random question. Check here for the random question.

And again, I will not show who is in the lead for points. Winner will be announced on November 1st and I will contact said indavidual.

This quote is from a 2006 movie.

Guy 1. "What's that?"
Guy 2. "Opportunity knocking....Or Granny and her vibrator.
Girl 1. "That was pathetic.
Girl 2. "hahahaaa."

I was actually shocked at how this movie was. I'll explain more in my review why I thought it was better then I initially thought.

This, That, & A Big Bag of Toenail Clippings.

I can't wait until things slow down a little in my life. Haven't really had time to do most of my online surfing to find interesting stuff to write about. Not like I had interesting stuff written on here before but I can dream of a well organized blog lol.

Why has my life been more busy....well, work for one. Duh. Its just been crazy busy and because I do most of my work on a computer, when I get home, I don't really want to jump online. I tend to stay away from it, unless I need to fix it again. How do I know if it needs fixing? Normally its my sister who tells me that something isn't working. She could ask her hubby but everyone in my family always asks me. Oh the life of the family geek. I should start charging them...lol At least my mom tells me that she'll cook me dinner before coming out right and asking me to fix her computer. Now that I think of it, I think she needs me to go clean up her computer to make it run faster. No thanks to my Dad and his constant trips to various porn sites. Thanks Dad.

I've been meaning to do a review of RAGE since I beat it 10 days after it came out. lol. I am currently playing it on Nightmare with the strategy guide.to get the last achievements. This is the first game I actually bought the guide to. I have used the one for Morrowind and FF7. I used the one in FF7 for my 2nd play through and I used the guide for Morrowind only after I beat all the main quests. Used it to get all those side ones. Well, all of the ones I did before I stopped playing thanks to Oblivion...lol

Since I'm talking about The Elder Scrolls series, who's getting Skyrim when it gets out? You better believe I am. I'm throwing in the extra money to get the dragon statue. I can't say no to that. My life will be on hold for the next week when I get that. Skyrim on the 11th, then Halo: CEA on the 15th. I might throw out more money and get the next Assassin's Creed game that also comes out on the 15th. And then coming out on the 20th, Zelda. 3-4 games within 10 days....Just hook me up to an IV, give me a chair with a toilet in it and a mini fridge stocked up with beer and food, oh ya, and a microwave and I'll be set. The dream of a gamer lol.

I'm kinda in shock now that I think of how many XBox 360 titles I have bought in the past 13 months since I got my first XBox 360. (On to my 2nd one since my first one was used and started to die.) I must have spent easily $1000-1500 in the past 13 months. I wouldn't be too shocked if it was closer to $2000. (Counting the purchase of the XBox 360s 250Gb for $300+)

Just so I can keep you readers interested, I will start working on a review of RAGE over the next week. Hopefully I'll have it up by Thursday or Friday of next week. Then I'll start doing a review of Dead Island, if I have it beat by then. Most of you playing is have probably already beat it but I actually have a life outside of games so you will have to wait for it.

In other news, we are down to the last movie quote question that will be posted tomorrow. So stay tuned.
And btw, I will not be showing who is in what place for points. I'm now keeping that a secret...muahahahahhaaaaa!!!!!!

Random question time for 5 points.
Whats greater then God, more evil then Satan, rich people want it, poor people have it, and if you eat it, it will kill you....?

for an additional 5 points.
If I kept all my piercings I've ever got in, how many total would I have?

Life isn't too short, its just when you're dead, you're dead for so fuckin' long....

Horror Movie Blazing Review: Resident Evil: Extinction

Like I mentioned in the HMQC blog the 2008 movie Animals is complete crap. It took a bit to pick up leaving big windows open. Parts of it have jumped back and forth between a couple parts and it made things happening confusing. The acting was terrible as well. I always give movies the insite of how the director is trying to portray it but I could not see where they were going with this. I passed out maybe half way threw the movie so I have no clue how it ended. And the situations that came up and the choices the people made were a joke. If you want to put yourself threw a garbage movie, check this out but I warned you.

I give that movie a 1 flame out of 10. It would have gotten a 0 but there was titties in them so that at least gets one point...lol

Now for the actual movie.

Most of you have seen this movie so there will be nothing new in this for you. I for one think is this is is the better movies of the 4. This is the best way I have seen in a movie of what would happen if a zombie outbreak happened and most of humanity was lost to the flesh eating walking dead. How Alice is with her ablilities really shines threw in this movie. Shows her real potential.

The Umbrella Corporation is trying to replicate Alice in a clone to get the best fighting machine to work on their side, but because there sample is outdated, they keep having problems. You see this in the begining of the movie. The actual Alice finds a few friends from one of the previous movies and helps them along to excape to a safe place of no infection that in near Alaska. If you have seen any of the movies, you know what you are in for. If you like action movies with lots of zombie killings, this is the movie for you.

After watching this, I now want to re-watch all the movies from first to last. If I can get the ones that are not on Netflix, I may do this sometime this or next weekend. Maybe halloween....hmmmm.

Well, this wasn't as informitive as I thought it would be but like I stated above, most, if not all of you, have seen this movie. If you haven't, then go watch it, NOW...but if you have, go watch it again. lol

Horror Movie Quote Contest - Question 4

Yes, I know this blog entry is late. I didn't have much time for this between Friday and now. I did watch a movie Thursday night for a review but the one I first picked was complete trash. I fought to stay awake to watch it but fell asleep half way through. Luckily the movie is done being on Netflix at the end of this month. What movie was so terrible? It was a 2008 movie Animals. Seriously, complete trash. More on that tomorrow.

Here we go, quote time. For 10 pts;
What 2007 movie has this?

Doctor: This is amazing, he knows what it is.
Doctor: Camera...you try.
Guy 1: My God, unbelievable. He has memory and reasoning skills.
Guy 2: This is incredible. The serum works, you domesticated them. You've done it. Congratulations.
Guy 1: NO, PLEASE, OPEN THE DOOR DOCTOR AAAHHHHHGGGHHH!!!!

Because I'm late on this, you have until Tuesday around 8-9 pm EST to answer this. Good luck.

Show review - The Walking Dead

I know I haven't been doing a blog everyday like I wanted and said but work is crazy this week. I've been working 11 hour days. I feel burnt out, but I'm gonna love the pay. I might even think of getting the iPhone 4s, or just wait until after the holidays so I can spend that extra money to spoil my daughter. Choices choices....Anyways, on with my blog...

The Walking Dead.

I just finished watching the first 6 episodes of the short first season and I have to say....I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SERIES. True Blood was an awesome series, but then I got bored of it after the first 2. A lot of my friends said I should watch the other ones, but I just didn't have time. I have more important things to watch...lol.

We have all seen zombie type movies no matter who you are. We know the ins and outs of what happens in them and how it always ends. People fight off zombies, try and stay safe, then an army happens to stumble across them, killing all the zombies around and saving them. The End. People died, people cry, kids seem to be no where. This series is different then the typical zombie movie but they still maintain the traditional zombie like abilities. There dead, hungry and they come after all living things. You wont be getting those zombies who can run like hell after someone. That just doesn't speak zombie to me.

Before I continue, I'll just say this. They don't call the zombies in this series zombies, they use the word geek. Some not-so-educated people might wonder why they are calling them geeks, aren't geeks like nerds but cooler...? The original term for geek is "a carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken." It originated around 1915-1920.

The main thing I like about this show is its showing how life is after a zombie like apocalypse. You see a few different `clans` of people that are working together to survive. You have people from all different backgrounds as well that in a normal life, wouldn't get along but due to the situation, they look past their differences and band together for the greater good....life.

If you are a zombie fan and want to see something other then the traditional zombie like movies, you have to check this out. It will definitely be worth it. The average show is between 45-60 minutes long. Season 2 has already started and I'm behind the 2 episodes already released. Unlucky for me, they don't have these yet on Netflix so I'll have to actually use my cable box to find when those episodes are on.

I give this series a 9 flames outta 10. Superb series.

Horror Movie Blazing Review: TEETH

Ya, I'm late on this one, but I've been busy. Plus yesterday I was gonna write this up when I got home but I ended up having to fix my home computer. It took me about 90 minutes and after that, I just didn't want to be on a computer for the rest of the night. Anyways....here we go...

I first heard of this movie from the Dave and Chuck the Freak show at least a year or two ago and it sounded disturbing but funny at the same time. As soon as I seen it on Netflix, I had to watch it.

The movie is centered around a teenage girl who is in her pubescent years. She knows somethings different about her but she doesn't know who to talk to. She's also one of the main speakers of a group of high school students who talk about abstinence and waiting to have sex until married. She discovers part way threw the movie, that her va-jay-jay has teeth. Obviously it scares her at first but then after certain situations happen, she decides to use her ummmm, teeth for good. I definitely would not want to be on the receiving end of her in a bad mood.

The movie seems like a typical B type movie with some ok acting, some funny parts and some wtf parts thrown in. Depending on who you are, you might like this or not. It's more so a movie for the women, yet some guys would probably enjoy it too, if they are able to see a part of a man being bit off.

I give this movie 6 flames outta 10.

Gaming Marathon Recap

Well, I did have a morning first break blog but something happened to it and it went bye bye. Oh well. Here is just a quick recap of the 24 hour gaming marathon. Then I'll be doing the Movie Review blog post.

I played pretty much all my Kinect games I have with my daughter and nephews in the morning, before my sister took them to her baby shower. We played Kinect Adventures, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Hole in the Wall and they played the Once upon a Monster demo. They had a blast and I had a blast playing with them.

We finished that then I popped in either RAGE or Halo: Reach. Can't really remember, most of the day is a blur now lol. Speaking of Blur, I didn't end up playing that game...lol. Oh well, there is always next year.

All the games I ended up playing are, RAGE, Halo: Reach, Kinect Adventures, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Hole in the Wall, Once upon a Monster, (I didn't actually play that, the kids did,) Skate 2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Dead Island, Gun Stringer, and Fable 3. Not to mention the couple games I played on my iPhone 3Gs.

I ended up taking a nap around 2am. Can't really call it a nap cause I downed an XL 3x3 from Timmy's before that so I pretty much only laid there with my eye's close for it, didn't really pass out lol. In the end, it was a long event, at times, I didn't think I'll make it but I did. Started at 9am Saturday and finished at 10am Sunday. Taking in account of my 1 hour `nap`.

Well, that was pretty much it for the Extra Life Gaming Marathon. I gamed, the organization made 1.1 million dollars, and we had fun doing it.

Until next year.
Keep fighting the fight.

Gaming Marathon. Getting ready.

I first wanted to start gaming at 8am but when I was getting up, I was a lil tired. Plus I ended up getting breakfast for my daughter and my 2 nephews. I went to Tim Hortons to get my coffee, and then coffees for my sisters and brother-in-laws. So I'm starting to game at 9am.

I'm gonna start out with gaming with the kids in some Kinect games. They'll gonna love it.

Haven't heard from my other team members. Hope to see them online soon.

Happy gaming. :)

Extra Life Charity 24 hour gaming marathon

Three more days until I spend 24 hours straight on my comfy ass chair and game for raising money for my local Children's Hospital. I will be gaming with some friends of mine for the day. My team consists of 5 people, counting myself. We are The Nimrods If you would like, please help us raise more money to reach our team goal. You can donate any amount of money you feel like. $5, $20 or even $100 or more if you feel really generous.

We first tried to see if we can all game in the same place but due to the amount of TV's issue at home place and network issues at another place, we will be gaming at our own homes. We will still be connected through XBox Live in a party so we can still trash talk each other the whole time. Almost like being all together except for the occasional shot in the arm from one of your good friends. lol

The games we will be playing are, RAGE, Borderlands, Halo: Reach, Dead Island, Gun Stringer, Blur and a few more. If anyone wants to join us on that day, feel free to send me a friend request on XBL to SG Weasel and add a comment in the request simply saying JB Blogz Extra Life.

I also have posted in the gaming forum I'm a long time member of Seasoned Gamers, and asked them there who would like to join my friends and I for the event. Mainly for Halo: Reach. Custom games with fellow SGers are always a blast.

I will leave you now with an email I got from the Extra Life website from the mother of the little girl who inspired this event. R.I.P. Tori Jo. So sorry real life didn't have a respawn option. :(

FROM JO ELLEN:
Dear Friends,
When you hear a child say that God doesn’t cure everyone – you immediately think that they are talking about an older person with an illness. Never did I in my infinite wisdom believe that they were talking about themselves – but they were. And never did I believe that something so awful could affect one of my children. Now I have learned the difficult way, that God does not cure everyone – and that everyone’s name was Victoria.
Victoria, or Tori Jo, as her friends called her, arrived on June 15, 1992 as our third child. We had two girls and a boy, and our family was complete. We thought our life was pretty perfect until….
When Victoria became ill at the young age of 11 – and the diagnosis was Cancer – our world was rocked.
Imagine being 11 years of age – and hearing the word CANCER and knowing that the person who had CANCER was YOU... I can’t even imagine how she felt. When the doctors told her, I saw her tears and I saw her little shoulders shake and I knew at that moment, that our lives as we knew it would never, ever be the same again.
Victoria never cried again! She faced so many, many obstacles and so many bumps in the road, yet she never gave up hope. Once as I was combing her golden blonde hair and it began to just fall out in large clumps, she ended up being the one to reassure me! She told me “it is just hair Mom!” As I comb my hair each day, I am reminded of what she told me. I will never, ever, talk about having a bad hair day!
If I could tell you one thing to remember about Victoria would be that she was always positive that she was going to beat Cancer. She never gave up Hope and she never lost Faith! Her courage was endless. She was a fighter. Today I want you to be a fighter for Victoria and a fighter for all of those children who spend endless days and months in a hospital. For these children the simples things are the things we take for granted. Victoria’s last simple request was to go outside and see the Christmas lights. A very kind man, Jeromy “Doc” Adams granted her that simple request and was able to push her around the grounds of the hospital so that she could see the Christmas lights. Going outside is something we all take for granted. Unfortunately it was her last Christmas gift. She was never to see another Christmas light here on Earth.
When Victoria passed away, I knew again, our lives would never be the same. The hole in our heart is always there and each day I have that reminder that there is never a “do-over” in life. I can not go back and do this over and make it right. I can not make it right for Victoria. That is the guilt that I carry with me each and every day. Victoria never got to go to high school like other children, she didn’t get a driver’s license, go on a date, or even get to graduate and there was nothing that I could do to spare her life. I, as the Mom, could not find a drug that would have cured her, and so I had to tell her goodbye….I felt like I failed her.
As you prepare for your event – please do not give up Hope. Encourage your friends, one more time, to give from their hearts for children like Victoria. Please do not make this their last Christmas! Continue to keep battling for Victoria – and for the other children – YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! One day we will all see the difference you have made in the lives of a children with cancer and other serious diseases and injuries– they will be cured and saved. We will all know how you made that difference in your efforts to heal sick children. Thank you all so much for what you are doing for the children!
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”

Horror Movie Blazing Review: Pulse 3

Before I continue on let me just say a few things. I won't be giving such obvious hints next time and I won't give so much time. Monday 9pm EST will be the end time. Plus I have only seen the first and third movies, but it fits real good as a second movie.

The movie is based off the original of someone finding a frequency that was able to let 'beings' pass through. Turns out the 'beings' were souls of dead people. Possibly ones that haven't crossed over. By watching 2 of the 3 movies (cannot find Pulse 2), the common cause of these spirits deaths were suicide.

The story follows a rebellious teenage girl who finds a laptop and decides to charge it and use it. She meets someone online who tries and pulls her into the city. She meets an interesting guy on the way who seems a little shady. The spirits seem to 'help' her when she reaches the city.

This is the end to the 3 movie series and closes the door to any more. Unless someone comes up with something like a small few of spirits survived from being in emp proof shelters.

Interesting movie if you like the 'evil spirits attacking us through our wifi connection' type movies. Made me laugh, made me cry...no really, I cried over the time I wasted watching this while working. I could have watched something a little more exciting.

I give this movie 4 flames outta 10.

Anyways, I need to get off my ass and get next weeks review in order. It's a bitch when you have to write it up that night lol.

What, was this round of HMQC too hard for ya!?

Like the title says, was this one too hard for everyone??

Here are the hints I gave about them.

1. It was a 2008 movie.
2. It had a character from Boy Meets World in it.
3. It was the third movie of these.

If I don't have a correct answer by between 7pm-8pm EST tonight I will post my review and no one will get any points.

I'm even gonna do a little google hunting after I post this and see how long it takes me to find the movie using the hints I gave.

Steve Jobs R.I.P.

For those who haven't heard the news, Mr. Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computers passed away last night at the age of 56. So today's blog will be all about him.

Born on February 24th, 1955 out of wedlock and gave up for adoption. He was a college drop out crashed on friends floors for a place to sleep. He collected coke bottles for spending money and for food money when he wasn't getting free meals from the local Hare Krishna temple.

After leaving Apple in 1985, he founded NeXT computer which Apple acquired in 1997 and brought Steve back to Apple to become CEO. In 1986, Steve bought The Graphics Group (later named Pixar) from Lucasfilm's computer graphics division for $10 million. Pixar partnered up with Disney to produce many great animation movies such as WALL-E, Cars, Toy Story 2 and this list continues. On January 24th 2006, Disney purchased Pixar for $7.4 billion. Once the deal closed, Steve became the largest single shareholder of The Walt Disney Company with 7% of the company's stock.

After returning to Apple, Steve helped launch the company into a new era of technology that most, if not all, of us have had the privileged of owning and/or using. What a tribute too that most of us learned of Steve's passing on one of the devises he help create. He is also listed as either primary inventor or co-inventor in 338 US patents which include speakers, keyboards, power adapters, and the list goes on.

He passed away on October 5th, 2011 from a fight against Pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his wife and 4 children and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

And as Kevin Smith said on Twitter "Steve Jobs! Thanks for never settling for the way things were during a life you spent showing us how things could be. O Captain! My captain!"

"Have the courage to follow your heart & intuition. They already know what u truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs

Busy Busy Life...blog interrupted.

I wanted to have a more structured blog but with how busy my life is, I can't do all the things that I want to do with it. I wanted to do interviews, book reviews etc, but the only thing I have time to do is my random blogz about nothing and my movie thingy. Plus I didn't get to do the `about me` type blog on my birthday. Oh well, this busy month will be over one day.

I've been trying to find time to write todays blog but when I get time to finish it up. I read that Steve Jobs, xo-founder of Apple passed away today. I now feel a big hole in my geek heart. And I know most of my fellow geeks and nerds feel the same.

I'm gonna try my damnedest to write a blog all about Steve Jobs for tomorrow. This man was truly Thomas Edison of our time. And I am not afraid to admit, I do kinda feel like crying because we just lost a really great man.

Well, here is part 4 of the Fruit Ninja Kinect code RJRY8
One more day left.

Today is a Great Day

We all go through times in our lives where we want to change things. Some go on diets, some change their appearance, some change friends and some, like what I'm doing, join a gym. I'm not doing it cause I'm fat, and need to loose weight, I joined to help get more energy in my life and get more active then I have been in the past couple years.

Today is the day, I'm starting my gym membership. Got my fitness assessment to see what I need to work on to reach my goal. Well, I have two goals. One, get more defined and build up a little muscle. Not too much, just enough to have more shape. My second goal, to work out 2-3 days a week for a year. The first goal will be easy, the second will be all about motivation. I just hope my legs that are a little sore from playing paintball doesn't effect my fitness assessment.

Other then me starting my gym membership, a couple other things have helped me get into a great mood.

Apple is announcing their new iPhone 4S and iSO5. So far from reading what I can from a live blog, I like what I see. I was a little nervous if they were releasing the iPhone 4S or going to the iPhone 5. I would rather them do the 4S. The 5 would probably have a bunch new problems they would have to fix before I would get that. So I was really happy they are doing a 4S. Looks like I'll be getting a new iPhone sometime soon. lol

Another awesome thing today is that Rage is out. I can't wait until work is over, and I'm done at the gym so I can go home and start gaming. I already redeemed my codes I got from the pre-order. Just gotta go home and let them download. These next 3-4 hours are gonna be long as hell....lol

Well, here is part 3 of the Fruit Ninja Kinect
DHCDY

Oh and so far, no one has given me an answer to my random question yesterday. Its not hard, Google the damn thing. If I don't get an answer tomorrow, no one will get points.

Todays random question for 5 pts.
What goes up but never comes down?
There could be more then one correct answer. Common people, get at it.

If at first you don't succeed, blame someone else, it's never your fault anyways...

Horror Movie Blazing Review.

The answer was guessed right by Mycaelus. It was Shaun of the Dead. A comedy drama. Some people don't call it a horror movie but it technically is.

The movie is based around two friends named Shaun and Ed and their lazy like life around the time of a zombie outbreak. The story also explores Shaun's relationship between himself and his girlfriend as well as himself and his mom and step-dad.

It's all about surviving, friendships, teamwork and fun. If your looking for a good zombie movie with lots of laughs check this out. Unless you're the small bunch who doesn't like this type of British humour.

I give this movie 7 flames out of 10.
The more flames the hotter it is.

Sorry I was a little late posting this up. My birthday weekend got too busy. And lazy. I'll be doing a partial game review wither today or tomorrow. The game in question, Dead Island.

Birthday entry #1

I woke up this morning around 0630 after going to bed at 0200. Wasn't tired and ready to face the world. As soon as I got up, my daughter gave me a present she bought me with her own money. It was wrapped in two pictures she had drawn for me. It was a pack of sour straw candies.

I went to meet my buddy Brad who's birthday is on the 5th and then go play paintball. Right now I'm waiting for the HD cam to be charged to finish off whatever time they owe me. Damn thing keeps dying on me. Got a couple nice marks on me too. lol

Well, another round is starting in a minute. I'll post again later.

ya ya, I missed yesterday's blog...so sue me....lol

I started writing a blog yesterday of a book review of Halo: Cryptum, but part way through, I realized that I don't remember most of the main points of the book. So, I'm gonna have to re-read it to refresh my memory. So as for book reviews on my blog. You guys will have to wait a little longer. I'll start them later on this month....hopefully.

Tomorrow people. the contest starts. Stay tuned for the Horror Movie Question Contest. Thankfully for Netflix, I have lots of Horror movies to watch. I'm even thinking of making a couple questions a little more difficult. I might watch a bunch of movies in a series (ie, Nightmare on Elm Street) and then pick one line from one of those and you will have to figure out what one its from. Not sure if guessing NoES would get you the normal points then a bonus points to pick what one specific movie its from. I'll be pretty much going on the fly with these questions. If anyone is on my XBL friends list, you might have an advantage if I keep it set to online when I watch the movies so you might see the movies that will be in question.

Well, about yesterday....Like I said above, I want to re-read the one book, and other books again, so I can do a better review. Guess I'll have to start on Cryptum when I get home tonight. I was gonna write a whole different blog after having a writers block on the review but work and life got in the way. Thankfully today is an `easy` day for me. Still busy, but not `pulling my non-existent hair out` kinda dayz.

One good thing about yesterday is that I joined a gym. Been thinking about it so why not. Stop off at the gym 5 minutes from my work before heading home. Kinda makes it easier that way instead of having to go out of my way to work out. I'm not doing this to become all muscle bound, I just want to be more defined and have more energy. I did have a membership in 2007 but I got laid off for about 3 months so I had to cancel my membership.

Tomorrow is my birthday, so I'll be posting a blog sometime tomorrow, other then my movie question, about me and things of me. I might even do multiple ones of things I'm doing for my birthday tomorrow. I am definitely going paintballing with some friends. One's birthday is on the 5th of October so for my gift to him is that I'll be paying for his paintballing too. I've known him for over 15 years so why not treat him to a present. I used to bring him with me whenever I got Windsor Spitfire tickets for my birthday but that hasn't happened since we were in grade 8 or 9.

Ya, I'm rambling on again. Oh well, kinda excited for my birthday. Not really the age I'm turning but the fun filled day I will have. I get my daughter tonight for a sleep over, then she'll be going to her Grandmama's just after lunch so I can go paintballing. After that, I'll be picking her up to go do whatever she wants until my bowling league starts. Normally we don't bring kids to the place to make things flow more easily, but its my birthday, so I don't care what anyone there says, and if they don't like it, they can bite me. After about 30-60 minutes there, her mom will come pick her up to bring her back home, then its nothing but me bowling and drinking. LoL. I'm making sure I tell the waitress that I do not want to see my glass empty. lmao.

Well, its been fun writing this blog. I gotta get back into the swing of things. I've been slacking. But we all do at times.

When life throws you a curve ball, duck, let it hit someone else and wait for a better pitch.

Cats. Bet u didn't know.....

Another day, another late blog. Sorry guys, been really busy with things. I would like to say I'll try to post earlier but right now it's hard. My work is crazy with 12hr shifts 3 days a week and family things the other 2, and weekends. Well, I normally get my daughter most weekends so my time is mainly doing things with her.

I heard a interesting thing today from The Rooster Teeth Podcast. http://www.roosterteeth.com/
Cats can survive a fall from crazy heights. In 1987 there was a study of 115 cats that showed that cats have a higher chance of surviving a fall from 9-32 stories then they would from falling under 9 stories. Also of the 115 cats, only 1 in 13 that fell nine or more stories sustained a bone fracture, whereas most of the cats that fell from lower stories suffered some type of broken bone. http://animals.howstuffworks.com/pets/domestic-cat-info5.htm

That's pretty much all I got for you today. I would write more but my mind is mush and I also want to get a head start on watching the Horror movies.

I've gone to go look for myself, if I return before I get back, tell me to wait.

Past midnight blog

Well, I'm suppose to be doing a book review today bit it's late.....and I actually planning on starting my schedule on the 1st. So technically I'm not going off my plan lol.

I will talk about something else though, games I'll be getting within a week. They are Rage and Dead Island. I would just be getting Rage but after seeing the one trailer someone posted on SeasonedGamers.com of Dead Island. I have to get it. Even if the game looks shitty, the trailer sold it to me.

Not many video game trailers make you really want a game. Unless it's a genre you like. This trailer though, if it doesn't make you want to get it, you will appreciate the wow factor of it. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/02/16/dead-island-announcement-trailer
I have seen gameplay so I know it won't be shit.

Now on Rage. Some people said it looks like a Borderlands rip. But doesn't all post-apocalyptic type games look the same? I know Borderlands isn't a post-apocalyptic game but it does have that feel. What I found out about Rage is that it will be 3 discs. And you know what that means...bigger fuckin game.

At this point of writing this I got distracted with playing Halo: Reach with fellow Pinq Mafia members.

From what I've read about Rage, I definitely want to play the shit outta that game. Multiple types of enemies with different fighting skills. And half way through the game they promised a big change in the game. I think they were hinting on enemies.

In the next 2 months I'll be owning 5 new games...maybe 6. My life is gonna be cramped. But being busy is what I like.

Can't wait till Saturday. Bday, bowling and paintball. Hell ya.

When life gives you lemons, grab the tequila and drink till you forget where the lemons came from.

Blog Timeline. Weekly Schedule.

Well, lets just stat the obvious first. This is what I plan to do, will it be followed exactly, hopefully....lol There will be some changes in the future and I'll throw in a interview every once in a while. Maybe once a month.
So before I start rambling like I've done in the past, here is what you will be looking for when you tune into this blog everyday. I'll just let you know now, the times when I'll be posting them will be random. Work and Life will obviously get in the way at times.

Monday - Random blog...probably stuff about gaming, interesting stuff I've read on Live Science or other type of website or maybe even just random things that happened in my life or changes to my blog.
Tuesday - Book Review. I'll be doing a quick write up of a book I have read. I have a nice collection of things I've read over the past little while so I'll be doing those first. Hint, for the first while they will be about the Halo novels, with a random other novel thrown in.
Wednesday - Refer to Mondays type blogz.
Thursday - Game review. Just like the book review, I'll be writing about game's I've played. If I get to a point where I reviewed all games I've beaten, I'll be doing reviews on ones I'm currently playing.
Friday - Again, refer to Monday's lineup for blogz.
Saturday/Sunday - Starting October 1st, I'll be doing my Horror Movie Quote Contest and the Movie Review will follow after the correct answer is given. Because my weekends are normally busy with family things, I have this as a double blog like day. Meaning, you will get at least 1 blog on the weekend instead of me trying to do 2. But because of the contest I'm having, I'll have 2ish blogz for now. 1 HMQC question, then Review.
Interviews - Like I said above. They will be at least once a month as long as I have someone to interview. I have 1, maybe 2 lined up but because I have never interviewed anyone in my life, I'm taking extra steps to make sure I do a good one.

I'm hoping I can stick to this so I have more of a solid Blog schedule so people at least know what they are getting into when they check out my blogz. I am still waiting for you guys to email me your questions for my `get to know your bloggest` blog I want to do on my birthday this Saturday. But if I don't have any, I'll just have to only do the HMQC post.

Something to ponder about; Without rules, there would be chaos. Without chaos, we wouldn't need rules.

We can hit the reset on our games as many times as we want to get the best outcome. These kids can't. :(

If's not broke, don't fix it. If its broke, learn something before fixing it.

Didn't really have time to think of a blog topic today. Been messing around with my router so it would stop dropping my XBL connection.

I bought my router off of an old coworker so I didn't get a manual. After many attempts over the last 2 days. I finally found a usable manual online.

After reading parts of the manual I went on XBox.ca/support to see what ports I needed to be opened. Hopefully I was able to fix my problem. Can't really check right now if I did. When I finally got it fixed I had to leave for my bowling league.

I'll have to check when I get home I guess.

Well, hopefully my game keeps getting better. My average is already up 12 pins in 2 weeks from last season.

If something breaks or messes up with your computer or network, don't stress about it. Take the opportunity to learn something. Cause if you learn something new a day, that day isn't wasted.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling....

As some of you may know, NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) will be falling to earth sometime tomorrow (Friday, Sept 23, 2011). The satellite's mission was to study the Earth's atmosphere, particularly the protective ozone layer. It was launched from the Space Shuttle Discovery during its STS-48 mission in September 1991. The 5,900kg satellite entered orbit on the 15th of September 1991 at an operational altitude of 600km. The original mission duration was only suppose to last 3 years but in July 2005, 14 years after the launch, 6 of the 10 instruments were still operational.
Sometime tomorrow afternoon, UARS will fall to earth. LiveScience.com asks the question, "What are your chances of getting struck by NASA's falling satellite?" Well, taking in account that there are nearly 7 billion people living on this planet, the chances of anyone being hit is 1 in 3,200. The chances of you being hit, is 1 in several trillion. Read More Here Just imagine if parts of the satellite fell by you. How would you react? I personally would first, duck and run for cover while looking up to make sure I do not run into another falling piece. The other thing was after I made sure nothing else fell, I would go grab that debris and add it to my geeky things collection. lol Common, who wouldn't want a part of a NASA satellite...?The more and more we look up to the sky and wonder our place in this universe, we tend to forget where our feet are. Just remember, wherever that may be, the steps you are taking through the journey in your life are way more important then any discovery NASA finds in outer space. Take the time to enjoy the time you have with your loved ones, because no matter what NASA finds, it cannot give back lost time. ~ JB

Change is good...but some people hate it

Ok people, finish complaining so you can carry on with you life and not fill my Facebook news feed full of status updates and comments on how much you hate the new Facebook look. It is nothing new. Facebook has changed things around before and they will change things around again. Like how life changes, everyone needs to change and adapt to be able to grow.

I for one like the new Facebook look. If its not for you, then go to MySpace, Google+, Twitter or whatever other social network website. But remember, all these websites will change as the time goes on. No website will keep their look forever. Unless they are only around for a couple months, then you can say that that website kept the same look and never changed.

Facebook is technically still the same, just with different bells and whistles. You can still make a status update on your home page. Most people's comments I've read stated that they couldn't. Just look for the `status update` button on the top of the home page, click it and a window will drop down to post a status update. Not hard, you just have to look.

It seems most people do what little children do when you ask them to go look for something in their room. The walk in their room, look around the room, literally, they turn in a circle, then come back out and say they can't see or find it. Then Mommy or Daddy comes in and actually looks and moves things and they find it within a minute or two. People, don't be lazy. Look around the page. Spend a couple minutes to see where things have been moved. And for Gods sake, read the little pop up windows that Facebook gives you to read explaining some of the new features.

Change is a must in life. If we never changed, we could never grow. If we never grew, life would get boring. Change keeps things interesting and exciting. So embrace the changes in your life and enjoy the journey that comes with it.

Book Review ~ HALO The Essential Visual Guide

For those who have not read any of my blogz, I've stated before that I am a huge Halo Geek. I own almost all the games (not ODST) and I own all their books. I still have to get the books that were redone. Oh well, I don't mind putting money toward my favorite sci fi universe.

When I picked the book up this past weekend, I thought that it would just be a book filled with pictures and explaining what they are and some history about it. Turns out I was right. lol

The cover is visually stimulating. It has a huge front view of the Master Chief from about the waist up. Cortana is standing in front of him with her back toward us. And sorry guys, the A in HALO is covering her ass. the cover looks basic but it speaks volume.

As you open, the table of contents are in alphabetical order as well as numerical order. Whoever made the layout made the book idiot proof. As long as you know your alphabet, you can easily find what you are looking for.

Quickly thumbing through it you can find anything worth reading. No matter what page you stop on. It is filled with useful information and pictures from all 6 current Halo games. There is nothing referring to any of the books or from the Halo Legends movie.

This is a must have for anyone who loves Halo. If you want to show off your Halo knowledge then get this book as well as the Halo Encyclopedia which overs all Halo things excluding Halo: Reach.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then it becomes a sport, EA buys the rights and makes yearly games.

Things are slowly coming along. (give me some questions to answer)

I am slowly getting things ready to get my blog to grow more. I have a separate email address and a twitter account set up. @JBBlogz and JohnnyBlazezBlogz@gmail.com. Like the twitter bio says, I am the Seinfeld of Blogz. That show was about nothing, and so are my blogz...lol

I know I said at a earlier time about commenting on here for the contest I will be having but please use the gmail address to email your answers in. It will be easier to know who is the person that's messaging me and not having some idiot pretend to be someone else.

I might be doing a interview with random people starting within the next couple of weeks and have a bi-weekly or maybe monthly interview posted. If anyone wants to be part of JB's Blazing People, email me and let me know. Like I said, I will be trying to get this blog more out there so I can talk more about nothing. We all know, everyone likes to read stuff thats about nothing. Sometimes there is something interesting in it.

I want to try and make my readers more involved with my blogz. Make comments, suggestions, post a comment about nothing...hell, do whatever you want. (Except posting links to obscene pictures or videos). Ask me questions to answer.

I'm gonna have a post between now and my birthday from whatever questions anyone has for me. Ask me anything you want. You're only held back by your imagination.

I just do not want this blog to just be me rambling on like an online diary. I know there are lots of people who would like to read things a little more interesting and help read things they helped with. So I want you people to help this blog grow. Without you, this blog isn't going anywhere.

If things in your life are looking down. Stand on your head. With your new perspective on life, things will start looking up.

Prizez to be won. Detailz below

I've been going over in my head a way to get more people to ready my pointless blogz. I came up with an idea, but I am still not sure as of the prize will be.

Throughout October I will be watching some horror movies and I'll be grabbing some lines from the movie that makes me laugh. I will post them in my blogz and have people guess what movie its from. I will tally up the scores and by end of October, I will announce the winner. I'm leaning to a M$ or PS point card or maybe even a $50 pre-paid master card. Pretty much it'll be around a $50 prize.

Yes I know I can use that money for many other things but I want to reward people who take their time to read my blogz. I might even throw in some random questions for bonus pointz. The point system will be as followed.

10 ptz will be awarded to the first person with a correct answer.
5 ptz will be awarded to bonus questions. (These will be random and nothing to do with the movie quote in question.)

ALL ANSWERS MUST BE POSTED AS A COMMENT ON HERE, NOT ON MY FACEBOOK OR TWITTER LINKS. I'll post more details about this at a later date.

Here is an example of one of the random bonus questions...

Question; 2 plus 2 equals?
wrong answer; 4.
correct answer; fish

I will follow every question with my review of the movie that the quote was from. I will be doing other reviews as well throughout the month. I'm planning on doing the Horror Movie Trivia Quotes on Saturdays starting on October 1st, my 27th birthday, and following every Saturday after that. But I might be extra generous and throw in a couple here and there in the middle of the week so stay tuned.

Whats the differences between a horror movie and a whore movie? One has people coming after you and the other you're cumming after them.

Anxiety. Oh how I loath you

Ya I know I didn't do a blog yesterday. I had a very busy day and I just couldn't find any time to even post a simple joke or anything. I'm here now, on lunch at work posting. And as the title hints, I'm dealing with anxiety.

I've had small anxiety attacks here and there but nothing too bad. Last time I had one this bad was when I was in High School. That was over 9 years ago. I thought the major attacks were gone. I can easily handle the small ones but the big ones just destroy me. I know the thoughts in my head are illogical and irrational but I just can't help it. If you have never suffered from anxiety, you won't truly understand.

The only way I can focus and not let this consume me is working on overdrive and work, work, work. If I let my mind wander it will start playing tricks on me making me think something terrible is gonna happen. To me, something bad happening at work, something bad happening to family, etc. I literally was in tears on the verge of crying because of those thoughts. And knowing those thoughts were irrational, I was getting angry. Nothing worse then having an anxiety attack, almost crying and being angry from that. Nothing comes good out of that if you dwell in that place.

I actually wanted to do a blog today about video games and stuff like that but with how my mind is, I'll have to do it tomorrow. So stay tuned for a better blog tomorrow or if things get better, tonight.

Life is like a Reese crunchy chocolate bar, we are all nuts on the inside.

Adventures of a Saturday with a Princess

Well today I was planning on writing a blog about seeing Lion King 3D but my damn iPhone app said the 3D started at 1:15pm, but after getting to the mall it was at 4:15pm...the 1:15pm was the 2D. Fuckin bullshit....

Well besides that, today was awesome. Woke up early and after being lazy for the first part, I went to Dollarama with my daughter Sierra. We picked up a few things then headed to BK for lunch. I ate, Sierra played in the play place. Typical child lol.

We went home for a bit. Got ready to go to the mall and off we went. Like I stated before, we were wrongly informed about the show times. So, we went walking around the mall. Which I wouldn't suggest doing after having been payed the day before. My normal work weeks are about 36hrs. I've been working about 50+ hrs the past little while.

Anyways, we went to a few stores but only spent money at 3. We both got hats, books and Sierra got 5 Mario Brothers figurines. We were gonna look at more stores but my buddy Matt called about picking up his XBox I was using. We got a ride home and I grabbed Matts things.

Just after that my sister and the boys came home. I threw on Megamind on Netflix for the kids and relaxed with them for a bit. Fun movie. I'll give it 8.5 outta 10. After that I shaved my face and head and got ready for bowling.

I did actually good tonight. Better then my good games last week. My average is now up to 144. I'm on my way home now. I wrote this off and on throughout the night. And now on the way home I get to finish it up. Time to relax.

Mentally Drained.

In sitting here at work running plates on the high powered laser trying to think of a topic to post about, but I'm so mentally tired that I'm drawing a blank. So this post will be about nothing. That's right, nothing.

Every other post I wrote had something I wanted to say but today, I don't know what to say lol. Well I'll review my day today. Sounds exciting eh!?

Today was payday. My favorite times of the month. Got up an hour early. Did my morning cat duties. Clean Sevens litter, change his water and put food in his dish. Then off to work.

Like most mornings I skateboard and walk to work. Takes between 30-40 minutes. I love the exercise. I hit up the Tim Hortons at the mall and got a XL 3/3 and a breakfast sandwich. Then off to work.

Busy busy day today. Had to get a job of 108 tags and one of 150 tags then a rush job and finally, four 4ft by 4ft signs. That last one drained me. Enjoyed doing it but it tired me out. Now I'm running those damn Dajcor plates. :(

I'm hoping to make it to the LCBO right after work before it closes and pick me up a 26er of vodka. Then hit up a corner store and get what I need to make some Xtra spicy caesars. Yes, I love my caesars. They are so good, especially how I make them.

Tonight at home I have a online meet up with some fellow SGers for some GOW2 multiplayer. This will be my first time playing MP online and what a better way to break my GOW2 MP virginity then with some SGers. And most of us will probably be drunk. I asked them to take it easy on me because I don't want to be walking funny the next day. lol This is going to be the last GOW2 firefight that SG will be doing because GOW3 is out Monday. Im glad I made it to one of then. Didn't make it to any other ones cause I just got GOW2 with my new XBox 360s 2 weeks ago.

Always remember; It's better late then never...unless your talking about your girlfriends period.

Bonus Blog - I mean I can't believe it worked

I am surprised that it worked. The faq section of OXMonline.com said that they do not encourage it but almost all of the readers that have had a reading problem with the disc said it worked. I got the Halo Anniversary edition of OXM, cause if you know me, I am die hard Halo Geek...lol. I got it just after I got my new XBox 360s.

I popped it in to check out some of the demos and it wouldn't read. It kept saying my disc was dirty. WTF!!? Disc dirty. I took the game out and looked at it. Crystal clean. No marks, scratches, nothing. I did not think much of it. Today though, I wanted to try it again. Just to see if it was just a fluke that it didn't work. Tried it, and I got the same problem.

Then I decided to check out OXMonline.com. I was too lazy last time but because I have my XBox connected to the main TV, the computer is right there. So I went online. The faq sections said that most people that had this problem took the disc and put it into bowling water for about 15 seconds, patted it dry and when they put it back in the XBox, it worked. So, I tried it. But, I only had it in for maybe 10 seconds. I dried it, put it in the system, and BAM....it fuckin worked. I actually laughed a little.

The reason OXMonline.com said that it would possibly work was because when the disc is finished being made, it is washed and sometimes residue is left on some discs. It's clear and hard to see, but it might be just thick enough to disrupt the laser trying to read the disc. I'm still smirking because it worked...kinda cool if you think about it. Boiling a disc so it would play...lol.

No matter how dumb something sounds, if enough people said it works, don't discredit it until you try it.

You know your old when...

Today I was watching a video on Break.com about the Scarlet Johannson leaked nude pix and I noticed the guy talking on it had a t-shirt on with Homie the Clown on it with 'Homie Don't Play That' written down the side and I thought, "I would love to have that shirt." (btw, the video was safe for work. All nude parts were blocked out.) 5-10 years ago I wouldn't have thought that. And it got me thinking...man I'm getting old.

Now yes, I am still quite young. Gonna be 27 in just over 2 weeks, but that's not my point. It seems like I'm getting to that age where things that would have bothered me in the past, doesn't bother me now. I just simply don't care. I've also been looking at some retro gaming t-shirts and hats that I might pick up that I wouldn't dare be caught in over 5 years ago.

It's funny how things change as you get older. Things that mattered to you before, doesn't matter to you now. You look at more of the simple things in life instead of caring about the big luxury things. I care more now about coming home from work and relaxing then where the next big party is at. I'm not saying that I don't like to party still. It's just not a priority.

I wish I actually realized all of this years and years ago. My life would be so much different. Hell, I might have actually gotten married and shit. Buuuut, I do love my single life. I don't have to worry about making sure my girlfriend/fiancée/wife was happy. I don't need to see if it's ok to join online leagues or buy a new video game or whatever. I answer to no one but myself.

Life is the longest thing you do. Don't you deserve to be happy no matter what anyone else thinks? Life seems short though because when your gone, your gone forever and you can't restart it. It's over. Unless you believe in reincarnation. So for my younger readers, worry more about what makes you happy and ignore anything negative that anyone else thinks and says.

Remember this people, Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

One year gone, thousands of covenant killed.

One year ago my favorite video game franchise released a new game. If you haven't guessed, it was Halo: Reach. I played the shit out of that game. lol

Lucky for me I had a friend who had a non-modded system and he let me borrow his, and he borrowed my modded system. I had to get a new disc last week cause it was so warn from playing.

Over the past year I've played in a league and clocked in almost 3 million credits. I've seen people who's made it to 20 million credits in that time. Looking at it another way, at 3 million is a level 40 and 20 million is level 50. I don't think I'll make it to level 50. lol

The league I was in, the team I was on made it to the championship game but lost. Our season/playoff stats are 25-6-0. We lost 3 in the championship games. Sucks, but we had a blast playing. In February the next Halo league is gonna start and you know I'll definitely gonna be signing my ass up lol.

If you are curious about joining the league or others like CoD, Racing, GOW3 (I think there will be one), golf and possibly others then check out SeasonedGamers.com

We do have some rules though....We are an adult gamer site, no one under 18 y/o. We want gamers that will be part of and contribute to the community. Forum activity is important. To make sure people aren't just joining for the league then quitting, we have a minimum requirement of being a member of the site and post count. These are just a generalization. Some info may change over the next while. (Age will stay the same.) Talk about rules to join is still under discussion.

Yes I had to say something about the gaming community I'm part of. I am the 2nd longest active member. I registered two positions behind the founder. LoL I gotta help the site out anyway I can. And yes I know I can talk about the new halo game coming out this year and next but I'll leave that for November 15th.

Remember people, Life is not a video game. If it was there would be a 'revert to checkpoint' feature.

I <3 my career.

Work this week is gonna be a relaxing one. No I do still have to work OT, no it still seems like a busy week. What makes it a relaxing one is that my boss is gone on vacation. :)

I don't want people to think I'm gonna goof around and not work at times. I actually still work the same, it's just I dint have to worry about my boss asking me to update him every other hour on my jobs and have him come in my office about every half hour to hour asking if I have everything under control.

You would think me doing the same position for seven and a half years and running the department the last 3 years would have him know I got things covered. But this is what you get with a neurotic boss. It is humorous when he freaks out with the occasional flies we get in the summer. Turning off lights to "corner" them. lol Despite his neurosis, he is an awesome boss. Best one I've had.

For those who don't know what I do, I'm a laser technician. My basic position. I make lazered and full colour graphic plaques for the auto industry. And I am trained to operate our Nd YAG laser to engrave tool and die moulds for the auto industry. We have done other stuff too. The odd sign and banner for some people, name tags, award plaques and special jobs every so often.

We've done lazering on tools for NASA which have been used on the international space station, tags for parts on helicopters for the US air force and my favorite, which I don't know if I can legally say but I'll give you a hint...they were ran across Canada.
I'm also proud to say that we are the only place in the world that we know of that makes the full colour graphic plaques for the auto industry.

I can also proudly say this; In 2007, my boss came to me about 2 months after getting this new program and machines, after I taught myself the program and how to use everything, he asked if I can see if I can use it to make full colour plaques. 1-2 hours later, I went to his office with a sample and he loved it. Another couple weeks go by with us working hand and hand with a tool and die company we were able to get the process fine tuned. We are always adjusting things to make them better and faster.

I love this career I have chosen. Definitely a prayer answered by God.

And on behalf of my boss, (he says this EVERYDAY when he leave), If you need me or anything goes wrong, call me, I'm just around the corner. Be safe, don't get hurt. lol

9/11. It's been 10 years.

I can't believe it's been 10 years since it happened. Today is also my nieces 11th birthday. Can you believe it, having that happen on your first birthday...? Crazy.

I can still remember that morning. Had my English class like normal. Seemed like a normal day. Then 2nd period came. Maybe 5-10 minutes after class started another teacher came into our class all frantic asking if we heard what happened. We all said no so she turned on the radio as she was saying what happened. For the rest of the class our class listened to the radio covering the news. When I went home for lunch I turned on the TV and watched it till I had to head back to school. Scary shit.

I still personally think it was an inside job. Main reasons are, absolutely no plane wreckage of the supposed plane that hit the pentagon and how the WTC's fell....from what I have seen of videos online, the only way a building has ever fell that way was in a controlled demolition, and those take weeks, maybe months to plan. If it fell from structural integrity then it would have fell totally differently and would have damaged nearby buildings more then they have. Plus the reports of multiple smaller explosions seconds before they fell.

We all have our own opinions and this was mine.

Worked today....been working mote Saturdays the past couple months then ever before. I have probably worked about 25 Saturday's in the last 7 1/2 years. Loving the extra pay though lol. It's also nice that I'm the only one in on the weekend when I have to work. I get to blare music. =)

After my 4hr shift I went to my local EB Games at the mall near where I work to see about getting my Halo: Reach game cleaned because a couple weeks ago the maps stopped loading. I could be to all the menus though. :/
It took me a week to find my receipt for it but I noticed that I forgot to get the one year warranty. :(

Anyways, the manager at EB said, "no we don't clean discs but just give me a moment. Do u have the game here?" I said ya and handed it to him. After about 5-10 minutes on the computer he told me that instead of me buying a new game he could give me a refurbish disc and a year warranty for....$5.65. HELL YA!!!! So, I got a new disc and it works. Already installed it in my new XBox 360s that I bought last week.

I go to that EB Games a lot. I've spent maybe $1000+ in the past year. Every time I'm there I make sure I spark up a conversation with the employees. They've set aside a Duke Nukem Big Balls of Steel package for me cause they got one extra. Got a Duke Nukem necklace keychain for free and now that. I think they like me lol.

I decided to let the manager know about SeasonedGamers.com and he seemed generally interested. For those who don't know, it's a gaming forum for older, mature gamers. They have a few leagues a year of Halo, CoD, L4D, racing, golf and maybe more. And we do have our own Olympics. It's mainly focused around XBox but there is something on there for any system.

So people, make sure you get a good friendship with the people at the game store you go to. You never know what you can get from a good friendship with them.

Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
